Stop Torture RI is an alliance of local community organizers, formerly incarcerated people and their loved ones, students, and other concerned citizens, working to end the use of extended solitary confinement and close the RI supermax prison. The coalition includes Black & Pink, the Center for Justice, the Center for Health and Justice Transformation, the Formerly Incarcerated Union, Direct Action for Rights and Equality, OpenDoors, and many other supporting individuals and groups. The coalition also includes multiple faith leaders and organizations, including the Rhode Island Catholic Conference, the Barrington Interfaith Partners, and the Rhode Island Council of State Churches. The coalition is directed by a steering committee that consists of a majority of directly impacted individuals as well as members from allied agencies. The full list of supporters is below:
